The "Journey of a Tree" project explores the metaphor of a seed growing into a tree to instill essential life skills and values in students. Much like a seed, each student has immense potential that can only unfold with time, care, and resilience. In a world where immediate results are often emphasised, this project aims to teach students patience, the value of nurturing, and respect for gradual growth. It connects them with nature, encouraging empathy for the environment while helping them recognise their unique qualities and the journey of self-development.

In many rural areas, teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the values and beliefs of the next generation. However, these educators often lack access to training that enables them to effectively address critical issues such as gender equality, identity, discrimination, consent, boundaries, and emotional intelligence. The absence of such training perpetuates cycles of inequality and hinders the holistic development of students. This project aims to equip teachers in villages with the knowledge and tools to foster empathy among students, creating a more inclusive and supportive educational environment. By addressing these core areas, the project seeks to reduce discrimination, promote gender sensitivity, and build emotional resilience in both teachers and students.

ABOUT US

Project Empathy is an endeavour to address the impact and developmental consequences that Empathy has in shaping more sensitive and inclusive leaders for the future, who provide equitable help during times of disaster and crisis as witnessed during the pandemic and regular floods, earthquakes and landslides. It is an effort to bring empathy education in the mainstream curriculum of our schools to nurture emotionally strong and mentally robust humans for the future, who can contribute towards nation building.
