OUR PROJECTS
Nagaland, characterized by a complex history of ethnic tensions and political conflict, offers a unique setting for exploring the potential of oral histories in bringing to the fore the stories of empathy and compassion, setting a new course to address the recurring challenges. This six-month research project, led by college students, aims to document, analyze, and leverage oral narratives through the lens of empathy, projecting a unique aspect of the state and its people.
RUBARU
Mental health is a vital component of overall well-being, especially for families of military personnel who face unique challenges due to the demands of military life. The constant relocations, long separations, and inherent dangers associated with military service can significantly impact the mental health of these families.
During our initial engagement with the families of Assam Rifles personnel, several key issues were identified that highlight the need for targeted mental health support. These include stress management, marital counseling, parenting, grief management, conflict resolution, and communication and leadership training. These challenges are prevalent in military families due to the high-stress environment and the unique lifestyle that comes with serving in the armed forces.
"Project Rubaru" is an initiative designed to address these specific needs by providing a series of workshops that educate, empower, and offer support to these families. The project aims to foster resilience and well-being, ensuring that these families are equipped to manage the psychological and emotional challenges they encounter.
